The sirens and subwoofers pounding city beats fade further down the strip
I slide one shell in the chamber and nine more up into the clip
I know by now the stars are out but they’re not above these streets
And I hope in turn the city lights keep heaven’s eyes from looking down on me

making soldiers of boys and sentinels out of the girls

Three days long and my brother’s gone and he’s left me with his son
I premeditate his killer’s fate as I rest my itchy fingers on the gun.
Streetlights hopping to it one-two-three but nothing steals my gaze
And that asshole in the house across the street still don’t know he’s seen better days
